An opportunity has arisen to join our team at Ipswich Hospital.We are inviting applications for a full time post, Locum Consultant Radiologist – General Radiology with subspecialty interest in Oncology radiology & Gastrointestinal Radiology.

This is a 1 year fixed term post whilst the division review the specialty needs and recruit substantively.

Main duties of the job

The post-holder will:

o Work with colleagues to provide a consultant-led service of the highest standard

o Work with the multi-professional team to develop care pathways and clinical guidelines

o Develop and maintain good working practices

o Provide effective clinical leadership for all staff in the service through positive collaboration with colleagues

o Offer support and leadership to junior medical colleagues, nursing colleagues and other members of the multi-disciplinary team

o Have appropriate medical secretary support and office space, together with IT and internet facilities

Essential

  • GMC
  • FRCR or equivalent

Experience

Essential

  • Ability to supervise and report general and cross-sectional imaging
  • Ability to perform general ultrasound techniques
  • Ability to supervise, perform and report techniques in chosen area of expertise
