We are looking for experienced Band 6 registered midwives
who are enthusiastic and skilled individuals passionate about promoting
midwifery led care and providing low risk care in a variety of settings. As a
midwife on our Midwifery Led Unit and Home Birth Teams, you will have the

Main duties of the job
Assessing and advising on the needs of women, birthing
people, partners, families, and carers and providing emotional support during
all stages of pregnancy and postnatal care Planning, delivering and evaluating
standards of evidence-based midwifery care.
Supporting women and birthing people in both the midwifery
led unit and home environments.
Recognising deterioration in the in the physical or mental
condition of a patient and taking appropriate action/ escalation and managing
emergencies.
In times of high acuity members of the MLU/Home
birth team may be escalated to assist our community midwives with their
day-to-day activities.
Person Specification
Qualifications
Essential
- Registered midwife with valid NMC registration
Desirable
- NIPE Practitioner.
- Have completed an approved mentorship course.
- Professional Midwifery Advocate.
Experience
Essential
- Band 6 midwife with at least 1 year of experience providing intrapartum care.
Desirable
- Experience providing intrapartum care in the home.
Statutory Registration
Essential
- Must be a NMC registrant
