Band 6 Network & Telephony Engineer

UHNM have a requirement for a Network & Telephony Engineer to join our newly established Network Services Team. The role will support the Senior Network Engineers in the successful delivery of the internal Network services. The aim of this role is to provide technical Network support for the systems and services used by the UHNM, as well as partners of the Trust, resolving incidents passed from 1st line support in order to maintain ‘business as usual’. Where appropriate, involvement in project implementation will also be required. Network Engineers work as part of the team providing support to Principal Network and Telephony Engineer and the Senior Network Engineers in delivering the Data network services across the whole of the Trust to ensure the provision of an efficient and reliable 24 hour, 365 day service

Main duties of the job

  • To provide specialist support in the operational management, implementation, maintenance of data communication networks and projects assisting in the provision of continuous and acceptable service to all end users, including management and on-site supervision of approved third party service providers and contractors as well as support of the Network Engineers.

  • The post holder will be required to contribute to the development and implementation of Key Performance Indicators and Critical Success Factors within the Directorate.
  • Implements Data policies and procedures and proposes changes when required. Proposed changes may impact on other functions and departments.
  • All staff have the responsibility to ensure they participate fully in a performance review and appraisal process ensuring that any key work objectives, targets, key performance indicators are reviewed on a regular basis with their line manager and contribute to an end of year performance appraisal.

Qualifications

Essential

  • oCisco Certified Network Associate (CCNA Voice) or 3 years of knowledge working with Telephony/IPT platforms
  • oRelevant first degree or equivalent experience

Knowledge, Skills, Training and Experience

Essential

  • oHands on knowledge and experience eith CISCO telephony systems such as CISCO Unified Communication Manager (CUCM)
  • oCloud Telephony services, such as Microsoft Teams
  • oNetwork troubleshooting: Skills in networking concepts including LAN TCP/IP, routing, switching, VLANS, Quality of Service (QoS) and security protocols
  • oExperience of being responsible for financial or physical assets.
  • oExperience of clinical practices and working within specialist environments
