Job summary
We have an opportunity for two Non-Executive Directors to join us to help to shape and deliver our plans. As part of our Board succession planning, we welcome applications from individuals who can bring the leadership capability, strategic insight and credibility to contribute at Board level and who may have the potential to undertake additional Board leadership responsibilities, including the role of Deputy Chair, subject to appointment through the Trust’s governance processes.
Main duties of the job
All Candidates must:
- Be able to demonstrate a commitment to improving the care, outcomes for patients and the reduction of health inequalities and have the resilience to work within a highly visible, transparent and accountable context
- Be a collaborator, able to work in partnership with stakeholders, public and staff
- Be well respected with strong connections to the local community
- Have the ability to contribute to the tone and style of Board discussions that facilitate effective decision making and constructive debate, conforming to the highest standards of corporate, clinical and mutual governance
- Have strong interpersonal skills
- Must be able to attend meetings and visit the Trust in person, with a commitment to the area and communities the Trust serves.
Role 1:
Eligibility
- Experience of leading and supporting oversight of transformation programmes at a senior level in a large organisation
- Estates, capital development or infrastructure expertise (Desirable)
- Commercial background (Desirable)
Role 2:
Eligibility
- Clinical qualification and leadership experience at a senior level in a care environment
- Complex change management expertise
- Nursing or allied health professional background (Desirable)

- Reside within reasonable travelling distance and able to participate in person in a wide range of local meeting and system working.
- Satisfy the criteria determined by the Board of Directors and endorsed by the governors, to include the Fit and Proper Persons Requirement as defined in the Health and Social Care Act 2008 (Regulation of Regulated Activities) (Amendment) Regulations 2014.
