Job description
The Room Manager is a role model to their team and leads by example in displaying a high standard of practice and proactively supporting the Nursery Manager and Deputy. This role is based full-time in the nursery and is counted as part of the ratio. You will spend the majority of your time on the nursery floor mentoring practitioners to ensure that all children attending the nursery receive rich and stimulating experiences appropriate to their age and stage of development. We follow the EYFS statutory framework and expect all applicants to have a thorough understanding on Development Matters.
What the role involves:
Maintain a high-quality, stimulating learning environment, supervise staff and deploy their skill set effectively.
Develop, motivate, and supervise staff to ensure a high standard of childcare practice throughout the nursery and develop strong partnerships with parents.
Ensure that practice and provision in the nursery meets the requirements of the Early Years Foundation Stage.
Care for and supervise children with regard to their physical, emotional and intellectual needs.
Supervise the planning and preparation of activities to develop all aspects of the child’s individual development within a stimulating environment.
Developing an open and positive working relationship with staff.
Maintain staff-children ratios, conducting regular staff assessments throughout the day.
We’re looking for:
Minimum Level 3 Early Years Childcare Qualification.
A practitioner with experience managing & developing a team.
An organised, supportive personality.
A fantastic understanding for how a Nursery works.
A can-do attitude and positive outlook.
Strong attention to detail.
