Purpose of the Role
The Office and IT Manager will be a key contributor to our operations, overseeing the Westminster office at our new location (87 Charlwood Street, SW1V 4PB) and managing IT services to support our global landscape design projects. This multifaceted role combines office administration with advanced technical expertise to ensure a well-organized, efficient, and secure work environment. You will lead the transition to Office 365, manage IT infrastructure, and handle daily administrative operations, enabling our team to focus on delivering exceptional garden and landscape designs.
Key Responsibilities
- Office Administration:
- Oversee daily administrative operations at the Westminster office (87 Charlwood Street, SW1V 4PB), ensuring a well-organized and efficient workplace.
- Manage office supplies inventory, liaise with vendors, and negotiate contracts to ensure cost-effectiveness and quality.
- Ensure compliance with health and safety regulations and maintain a professional office environment.
- Support post-relocation operations, addressing any facility-related issues following the move.
- IT Infrastructure Management:
- Administer and troubleshoot Microsoft domain infrastructure, including Active Directory, Group Policy, DNS, and Windows Servers (implementation, upgrades, migrations, and general administration).
- Lead the setup and migration to Office 365, providing training and support to staff for seamless adoption.
- Manage cloud platforms (Azure and/or AWS).
- Data and Device Management:
- Accurately input and manage data in systems, databases, and performance matrices, ensuring data integrity and confidentiality for project and client records.
- Oversee PC roll-outs, upgrades, and mobile device support, ensuring seamless functionality for all users.
- Process Optimization and Collaboration:
- Identify opportunities to streamline IT and administrative processes, enhancing efficiency and supporting project delivery.
- Train staff on IT and administrative systems, and collaborate with project teams, external consultants, and clients to deliver high-quality operational solutions.
Required Skill Set
- Strong numerical aptitude, analytical skills, and exceptional attention to detail.
- Outstanding organizational and time-management capabilities to handle multiple responsibilities effectively.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, capable of maintaining strong relationships with staff, clients, and vendors.
- Discretion with confidential information and a commitment to ethical practices.
- Minimum 3 years of experience in a network consultancy or IT services company, with a focus on implementation and support services.
- In-depth knowledge of Microsoft domain infrastructure, including Active Directory, Group Policy, and DNS.
- Hands-on experience with Windows Server implementation, upgrades, migrations, troubleshooting, and general administration.
- Expertise in Microsoft 365 setup and migrations.
- Experience with Azure and/or AWS setup and management.
- Working knowledge of switch and firewall configurations.
- Strong experience with security software and tools to maintain a secure IT environment.
- Proven track record in PC roll-outs, upgrades, and mobile device support.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Finance, HR, or a related field is preferred.
- Certifications in Microsoft 365, Azure, AWS, or virtualization technologies (e.g., VMware Certified Professional, Citrix Certified Associate) are preferred but not essential.
