Job summary

This post is key to the continued development and delivery of cancer services to the population of Dorset.

The post holder will contribute to the provision of oncology services for patients with cancer at the Poole and Bournemouth sites of University Hospitals Dorset. The post holder will work with surgical and other oncology colleagues to provide multi-modality treatment.

The post is full time 10 PA’s per week

Person Specification

education and qualifications

Essential

  • Full GMC registration
  • FRCR or eequivalent

Desirable

  • Advanced Communications training

experience and effectivness

Essential

  • oAbility to take full and independent responsibility for clinical care of adult patients
  • oDemonstrate use of evidence based practice
  • oDemonstrate evidence of sub-specialty / specific tumour site training

Desirable

  • oWilling and able to help develop oncology services

Knowledge and skills

  • oWillingness and ability to fulfil all key elements of the job description
  • oExperience of / ability to supervise and train junior doctors
  • oAbility to develop effective working relationships on an individual, multi-professional and team basis with all levels of staff
