We have an amazing opportunity for an Orthopaedic Veterinary Surgeon to join a specialist RCVS accredited small animal hospital in a charming market town in West Yorkshire. This lovely area has a rich industrial history, a bustling high street, and scenic spots.
You will be working in a purpose-built hospital specialising in orthopaedic and spinal conditions, established in the local area for over 21 years. The hospital features spacious consultation rooms, two separate wards, and state-of-the-art equipment including Digital X-ray facilities with an onsite CT scanner, an in-house laboratory, three large theatres, and a visiting MRI scanner.
You will join a supportive team of veterinary staff, including a skilled and dedicated nursing team and a wonderful client support team. Your responsibilities will include managing the orthopaedic caseload, such as fractures, TPLOs, and complex soft tissue surgeries, and delivering exceptional clinical care to your patients during consultations and procedures. You will need to observe the highest standards of regulatory, practice, and operational compliance.
The ideal candidate will be RCVS registered and have experience in small animal surgery, including the ability to perform TPLO/TTAs or equivalent, fracture repair, and complex soft tissue procedures. You will need to demonstrate clinical leadership skills and be experienced in working effectively as part of a team. Experience supporting nurse consults and Schedule 3 procedures and understanding how this contributes to clinic performance and efficiency, is essential.
