Main duties of the job
To provide a comprehensive and high quality pharmaceutical service within the Dispensary team, including the dispensing, checking and handing out of Outpatient prescriptions and assisting the dispensary management team in the day to day running of both the outpatient and inpatient dispensaries
To work under the supervision of the dispensary management team to provide a safe and effective service, working within the scope of existing SOPs but also supporting in the reviewing and updating of SOPs when required.

Person Specification
Qualifications
Essential
- BTEC in Pharmaceutical science or equivalent
- NVQ 3 in pharmacy services or equivalent
- Registration with the General Pharmaceutical Council
Knowledge
Essential
- Knowledge of pharmaceutical technical procedures acquired though training, NVQ3, BTEC in pharmaceutical science or equivalent level
- Knowledge of COSHH
Experience
Essential
- Understanding of hospital pharmacy environment
- Understanding of working effectively within multidisciplinary groups
Skills
Essential
- Evidence of excellent communication skills (verbal and written) with healthcare professionals and patients
- IT literacy including core Office programs
- Methodical and able to prioritise workload
- Good time management
- Ability to analyse information to provide advice
- Good team worker and works effectively within multidisciplinary team
