Worcestershire podiatry
service is excited to advertise this Band 5 podiatry role . This permanent post
has been designed to provide newly qualified and early-career podiatrists with
a unique opportunity to gain experience across all aspects of podiatry.
This is a full time post but we would consider applicants looking for part time.
Working across Kidderminster
and Bromsgrove sites, you will develop a diverse clinical skillset whilst being
supported by experienced clinicians, and multidisciplinary teams. This role
offers exposure to a wide range of patient groups and clinical environments,
providing an excellent foundation for future career progression.
Within our community podiatry
service, you will experience and have exposure to caseloads including wound
care, musculoskeletal presentations, nail surgery and domiciliary care. You
will undertake regular home visits and be provided with remote IT equipment to
support agile working.
You will gain valuable
experience working alongside multidisciplinary teams managing high-risk foot
complications. Opportunities include exposure to busy acute clinics including
vascular and orthopaedics and diabetic foot MDTs.
You will receive
comprehensive induction, preceptorship programme, supervision and ongoing
professional development.
Main duties of the job
Your
duties will include:
Assessing,
diagnosing and managing patients with a wide range of foot health conditions
under the guidance of senior clinicians.
Providing
podiatric care to patients with diabetes, PAD, musculoskeletal conditions,
wounds and other complex health needs.
Participating
in community clinics, home visits, hospital outpatient clinics and inpatient
services.
You
will perform nail surgery as part of a rota.
You
will join the team in telephone triage for new and existing patients, to
prioritise care for those most at risk.
You
will participate in peer review, reflective practice and audit, and actively
participate in clinical supervision.
Maintaining
accurate clinical records and contributing to service audits, quality
improvement initiatives.
Person Specification
Experience
Essential
- Professional Knowledge acquired through formal degree training at university.
Desirable
- Previous , relevant NHS experience
Qualifications
Essential
- A degree or equivalent qualification in Podiatric Medicine
- Certificate in administration of local anaesthetics
- Registration with the Health Professions Council
- I understand that I will be asked to provide original certificates to verify my qualifications at point of offer.
