Job Summary

This is your chance to join our dynamic 2026-2028 cohort of Pre-registration Trainee Pharmacy Technicians and embark on a journey towards becoming a fully qualified, General Pharmaceutical Council (GPhC)-registered Pharmacy Technician.

As part of our two-year training programme, you’ll gain hands-on experience and develop essential skills within a fast-paced, supportive, and rewarding healthcare environment. By the end of the programme, you’ll be equipped with the knowledge, experience, and qualifications required to register with the GPhC and begin an exciting and fulfilling career in pharmacy.

Training Locations

This role is split across two hospital sites:

  • Chase Farm Hospital
  • St Ann’s Hospital

You will rotate between both sites during your training, giving you valuable exposure to different pharmacy services, teams, and patient groups, and helping you develop a broad and well-rounded skill set.

Main duties of the job

A minimum of 4 GCSEs grade A* – C (new grades 9 – 4) or equivalent including:

  • GCSE English at Grade C/Level 4 or above, Scottish National 5 or above, or equivalent English language evidence which can include Functional Skills Level 2*
  • GCSE Maths at Grade C/Level 4, Scottish National 5 or above, or equivalent evidence of numeracy which can include Functional Skills Level 2
  • GCSE Science x 1 at Grade C/Level 4 or above, or Scottish National 5 or equivalent

*PLEASE NOTE that English for Speakers of Other Languages (ESOL) is not an equivalent to GCSE English Grade C/Level 4 or above and does not meet the entry requirements.

You will also need to be patient focused, have good interpersonal and communication skills, be a quick learner and be committed to the 2 year training programme. The ability to cope with the discipline of studying whilst working is essential.

Essential

  • 4 GCSES at grade C/4 or above (Including Maths, English, Science)

Desirable

  • Pharmacy experience/ NVQ Level 2 in Pharmacy Services

Skills/Abilities

  • Good written and verbal communication
  • Interest in pharmacy/healthcare
  • IT literacy

Desirable

  • Evidence of time management/initiative.
  • Interest in studying/learning new skills

Experience /knowledge

Essential

  • Experience of working with public.
  • Experience of working within a team

Desirable

  • Experience of working within a pharmacy/healthcare setting.
