Job summary

An exciting opportunity have arisen to join our Primary Mental Health Team within Child and Adolescent Mental Health Service (CAMHS) who are fully embedded into the Specialist CAMHS structure providing advice, support and brief interventions to children and young people in the Bradford /Airedale/Craven area. We are seeking to recruit Band 5 Practitioner to work within our PMHW role.

This role involves liaising, consulting and supporting VCS, Schools, alternative provisions and other health professionals to improve the emotional mental health of young people. The successful post-holder will maintain a case -load and offer short-term interventions to support children and young persons experiencing emotional distress and to support resilience and recovery of well-being.

Main duties of the job

To contribute to the development and provision of the service to children and young people with mental health needs. This will include assessing, planning and delivering short term packages of care. To work as part of a multidisciplinary team and offer specialist support, consultation and training to staff within the service and other agencies as appropriate.

The post holder will be expected to provide assessment and therapeutic interventions at Tier 2 and Tier 3 level. In addition, the post holder will provide consultation and liaison to the teams.

Person Specification

Qualifications

Essential

  • Current registration with professional body
  • Register Mental Health/Learning Disability/Children’s Nurse (including newly qualified), Social Worker (including newly qualified)

Desirable

  • ENB 998 or equivalent or equivalent supervision of students qualification

Experience

Essential

  • Experience of working in a mental health setting either substantively or through placement.

Desirable

  • Experience of working in specialist areas, for example substance misuse and alcohol service, advocacy, domestic violence, criminal justice, children’s services, learning disability services
