We are expanding our analytical offering by increasing the roles in the Insights & Partnerships section of the Health Intelligence team and would love you to join us.
We have recently implemented a new single data warehouse across UHN and are ready to leverage the potential that gives us as a team. We will be looking to embrace new tools and technology within our team to simplify our routine demands and push the offering far beyond the traditional.
We aim to effectively support our stakeholders across UHN by developing close working relationships with teams across the organisation, making data instantly accessible and moving the conversation to what the data tells us.
We are predominantly a remote team so fully support remote and flexible working. We do however have team meetings once a month which are hosted on site depending on their content and there may be other times where an on-site presence is required to support stakeholders.
Main duties of the job
The post holder will be a key part of the Health Intelligence Insights & Partnerships team, proactively engaging with colleagues and key contacts internally and externally.
Responsible for supporting the production of timely and accurate reports and bespoke pieces of analysis, ensuring compliance with regulatory and contractual responsibilities, supporting decision making, and improving performance.
The post holder requires strong analytical and statistical skills/knowledge with an in-depth experience of stakeholder management and analytics delivery for operational, performance and planning decision support.

Education, Training & Qualifications
Essential
- Educated to Masters degree level in a numerate/quantitative discipline or demonstrable equivalent experience and competencies in relevant or similar roles.
- Evidence of continuing professional development
- IT, Information or statistical qualification
Desirable
- Management qualifications.
- Qualified at practitioner level of a recognised project management methodology
Knowledge & Experience
Essential
- Highly developed specialist knowledge of working with health information systems, with ability to keep fully informed about emerging technology through horizon scanning and networking.
- Knowledge of driving through change and developing an insight and analysis culture, moving from reporting the past to supporting future decision making
- In depth knowledge of MS office, Excel, Word, Access, Outlook etc.
- Highly developed specialist knowledge of MS SQL Business Intelligence tools.
- Create reports using appropriate tooling to summarise and analyse data from various sources, ensuring systems are adapted to reflect changes in data collected
- Knowledge and experience of understanding user needs, seeking feedback and user research methods to improve reporting, analytics and insight delivery
- Demonstrate the ability to plan, organise and prioritise workload according to the demands of conflicting and unpredictable requests.
- Experience of writing SQL queries for reporting- Complex correlated queries, sub-queries
- Working knowledge and experience of SPC charts, technical data models, writing DAX queries, creating calculations and measures, bespoke functions and integrating multiple data sources in Power BI

- Extensive experience working in a Health Intelligence Role within the NHS
Skills
Essential
- Ability to use professional judgement and advise others on best practice, national guidelines and legislation on Information Management

- Proficiency the use of SQL Server Integration Systems (SSIS) and SQL Server Reporting Systems (SSRS)
- Proficiency in Microsoft products including advanced skills in Microsoft Excel
- Ability to undertake analytics writing to highlight key messages to relevant stakeholders
