Main duties of the job

  • To provide management oversight of a rolling schedule of internal and external Quality and Safety Reviews. This includes the schedule, recruitment to review panels, supporting the QSR process, accurate and timely reporting.
  • To participate in QSRs.
  • To provide in depth analysis of various forms of information and produce detailed, accurate reports through the Trust governance framework as required.
  • To attend and regularly aid the complex care panel in their decision making.
  • To work in collaboration with the Clinical Governance Lead (QSRs and Regulation) on the continuous review and improvement of Quality and Safety Review processes.
  • With the need to review clinical teams across the country, the ability to travel independently is required. Additionally, given the distances of travel, the role will likely require some overnight stays.
  • Ideally you will have a good knowledge and experience of quality monitoring and inspecting mental health inpatient services.

Person Specification

Qualifications

Essential

  • Registered mental health or learning disabilities nurse
  • Administrative qualifications such as EXCEL, data analysis and report writing
  • Educated to Masters Degree or equivalent.

Skills

Essential

  • Ability to develop and promote effective interpersonal relationships with colleagues across health and social care setting
  • Able to assimilate and analyse information both quantitative and qualitative including data, narrative and utilising observational skills.
  • Ability to communicate in a variety of settings, to achieve cooperation and influence others

Knowledge

Essential

  • Governance systems, processes and approaches

Desirable

  • Awareness of national policies relating to governance

Experience

Desirable

  • Project management experience.
