An exciting opportunity has arisen for dynamic and motivated individuals to join the team of Radiographers at Hywel Dda University Health Board, with availability at three sites – Glangwili General Hospital, Withybush General Hospital and Prince Philip Hospital. All departments offer a supportive and encouraging environment in which to develop as a professional and move forward in your radiographer career.

We welcome applications from third year student radiographers who qualify this year.

Main duties of the job

The successful applicants will be working within the CT or MRI departments. Applicants will have the opportunity to train in a specialist area. They will be expected to undertake cannulation training and work with a committed team of radiographers and support staff. You will be given a training/competency preceptorship plan and will be fully supported to become trained in the modality. Each hospital has modern scanners and newly refurbished working areas.

The appointment will be 37.5 hours per week including long days, evenings, nights, weekends and bank holiday shifts.

Qualifications and Knowledge

Essential

  • BSc Diagnostic Imaging (or equivalent)
  • Active HCPC registration

Desirable

  • CPD Portfolio
  • Working experience as a Diagnostic Radiographer

Experience

Essential

  • Skilled in projectional radiography techniques and modification of exposure factors.
  • Experience of using radiology IT and PACS systems to record and review patient specific information

Desirable

  • Experience of using different systems i.e., CR, DR and equipment from different providers

Other

Desirable

  • Welsh Speaker (Level 1)
