Job Summary

Diagnostic Radiographer

As a qualified or newly qualified Radiographer you will participate in a range of Imaging tasks within the X-Ray department across multiple hospital sites .

You will be working as part of a vibrant and dynamic team.

A&E, inpatient, outpatient, theatre and mobile Imaging.

The Radiology Department is a progressive, forward thinking team and the candidate will have the opportunity to be involved in the shaping and delivery of the Radiology service. We aspire to create an outstanding service,able to support individual staffneeds.

 

Main duties of the job

Applications are welcome from enthusiastic and motivated newly qualified or experienced Radiographers looking to expand their skills in our busy, friendly Imaging Departments over a number of sites.

Applicants must be adaptable and be prepared to work evenings, nights and weekends as part of a seven-day service delivery. Excellent interpersonal and communication skills are essential, as is the ability to work both autonomously and in a team environment.

We are committed to role extension, career progression and actively encourage CPD. Staff are supported to achieve their personal professional goals and aspirations within imaging modalities.

Undertake a wide range of imaging examinations as per the department’s technique protocols contributing towards the key service objectives of the Medical Imaging Department.

You will undertake a variety of examinations including general radiography, fluoroscopy, theatre, dental radiography and mobile imaging.

Provide a quality service for all referrers and to the clients they refer.

Person Specification

Qualifications & Training

Essential

  • DCRR or B.Sc Diagnostic Radiographer
  • Registered healthcare professional (HCPC) or student due to qualify as a healthcare professional (HCPC)

Desirable

  • Knowledge of life support skills
  • Word Processing skills

  • Deal with all clients regardless of medical or social problems
  • Ability to deal with clients who have barriers to communication (language, deafness, learning difficulties)

  • Able to accommodate the demands of the post as required with flexible working and good attendance
  • Able to travel independently between all sites as required

Knowledge and Experience

Essential

  • Recent experience in busy Imaging Department (either as student or qualified radiographer)
  • Recent experience in NHS

Desirable

  • Evidence of CPD
  • Previous out of hours working
