We have an exciting opportunity within Bolton’s 0-19/ 25 Children’s Integrated and Well-being service, Public Health Nursing Servicefor a Specialist Community Public Health Nurses(SCPHN) within Health Visiting

The primary aim of specialist practice is toimprove health outcomes and reduce health inequalities for children, young people and their families living in Bolton.

As a SCPHN, you will gain invaluable evidenced based experience supporting young people, families and communities, including early intervention and safeguarding.

Main duties of the job

We are looking for a colleague with effective communication skills to engage and empower children, young people and families. This will include collaborating with families and relevant professionals whilst being professional and reflecting the NMC Code of Conduct.

You will also be a reliable team player who utilises problem solving approaches as these are aligned to community working and public health nursing.

Person Specification

Qualifications

Essential

  • NMC Registration
  • Specialist Community Public Health Nursing – Health Visiting or School Nursing.
  • Independent Prescriber v100 or equivalent.

Experience

Essential

  • Evidence of Continuing Professional Development.

Desirable

  • Evidence of Continuing Professional Development.
  • Experience working in a multidisciplinary environment
  • Experience of public health work
  • Experience of safeguarding work

Knowledge

Essential

  • Up to date clinical knowledge relevant to the post.
  • Knowledge of the local community.

Desirable

  • Understanding of community development/public health

Skills

Essential

  • Ability to use information systems
  • Ability to use a problem solving approach and apply evidence to practice
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
  • Presentation skills
