Job summary

Support the delivery of the Cardiac Catheter Lab Service

To assist in the provision of an efficient radiology service and be responsible for service delivery and service improvement

To undertake regular audit of their own practice and of other Radiographers

To assist in the facilitation and coordination of the patient pathway within the lab, taking into consideration local and national objectives providing advice on developments.

To deputise for the Superintendent Radiographer

To support 24/7 PPCI service, including bank/public holidays as required by the needs of the service.

Main duties of the job

Person Specification

Qualifications

Essential

  • BSc Diagnostic Radiographer (or equivalent)
  • HCPC registered
  • PPCI experience

Desirable

  • Immediate Life Support
  • Higher Professional qualification/Masters level

Experience

Essential

  • Ability to carry out radiographic procedures to a high standard
  • Considerable Band 5 Radiographer experience with a sound clinical knowledge of radiography and/or fluoroscopy and/or cross section
  • Sound knowledge of ionising radiation legislation
  • PPCI service experience

Desirable

  • Experience of stock control
  • Specific expertise in relevant cardiac cathlab modalities
