Main duties of the job

The Evelina London Children’s Hospital would like to invite applications for the post of Clinical Fellow in Paediatric Endocrinology and Diabetes. The post will be offered on a six month contract in the first instance, with potential to extend.

Person Specification

Qualifications

Essential

  • MRCPCH (UK) part 1 and part 2 or international equivalent qualification(s).

Desirable

  • CCT/CST in paediatrics

Clinical Experience

Essential

  • Proven record of experience at ST 4-5 level paediatrics or equivalent.

Desirable

  • Previous paediatric endocrinology and diabetes experience at SpR level (ST5+)

Other

Essential

  • Evidence of understanding of and adherence to the principles of Good Medical Practice set out by the General Medical Council.
  • Evidence of contribution to effective clinical audit and clinical risk management.

Desirable

  • Experience in clinical guideline development.
  • Appraisal training.

Knowledge and Skills

Essential

  • Ability to work as an effective member of a multidisciplinary team.
  • Level 3 Child protection training.
  • Paediatric life support training (APLS/EPLS or equivalent).
  • Evidence of experience in clinical procedures relevant to post.

Desirable

  • Undertaken quality improvement work or service development.

Research

Essential

  • Understanding of the principles and applications of clinical research.

Desirable

  • Evidence of original research.
  • Publications in peer review journals.
  • In date Good Clinical Practice (GCP) certificate

Personal Skills

Essential

  • Capable of establishing good interpersonal relationships with patients and staff of all grades.
  • Able to work in a team.

Physical Requirements

Essential

  • Health cleared by occupational health for the role specified.

Teaching

Essential

  • Experience of undergraduate teaching and post graduate training.
