Job summary

  • The post holder needs to demonstrate an expertise in identifying and implementing ways of streamlining and automating processes carried out within the Information Team.

Main duties of the job

  • Responsible for redeveloping and improving current processes to ensure maximum income, data quality and reducing timescales for data production.
  • Develop and implement changes to the Information provision in order to meet national guidelines and the needs of the Trust.
  • Responsible for developing, supporting and maintaining the extraction of data from Trust Clinical Systems and data warehouse.
  • Automate reports to be sent on a schedule and maintain them
  • Provide and receive highly complex, sensitive or contentious information and be able to present them using advanced analytics in such a way that the Trust staff without an informatics background can understand.
  • Support the implementation of computer system applications within the Trust where these have a bearing on information provision.
  • Develop reporting processes to support both internal and external Data Assurance and Information Governance requirements.
  • The post holder will be required to build and maintain strong working relationships with a broad range of internal and external stakeholders on a range of business issues, some of which are sensitive and contentious.

Qualifications

Essential

  • Educated to degree level or equivalent experience
  • Advanced knowledge in T-SQL and scripting languages

Experience

Essential

  • Proven track record of working within an Informatics environment
  • Experience of programming, configuring, managing and maintaining the operation of complex databases and to develop and manipulate large, complex data sets
  • Experience of data interrogation and data linking, able to analyse complex issues where material is conflicting and drawn from multiple sources

Knowledge, Skills & Abilities

Essential

  • Developed specialist knowledge of data collection and analysis to design and develop reports
  • Working knowledge of Microsoft SQL Server Management Studio and SQL
  • Extensive working knowledge of Microsoft Office package – particularly Word, Access and Excel
  • Risk management and governance
  • Experience with Power BI and creating Dashboards
  • Working and managing databases
  • Lead project
  • Working in an Acute Hospital
  • Knowledge of report automation software

Desirable

  • Knowledge of Python
  • Knowledge and understanding of NHS Data Dictionary and Trust clinical systems with the ability in interpreting national guidance
