Job Summary
We are seeking a senior professional who has experience of working in an Information Management role within a NHS Acute Trust.
The post holder will be responsible for the business intelligence function of the Trust. This involves:
All statutory, divisional, corporate and commissioner reporting.
Supporting divisional, corporate and Trust objectives with the provision of actionable insight.
Main duties of the job
The postholder will be a senior manager in the Information Management department, running the day-to-day operations of the department, managing analyst workflows, internal and external agreements for the delivery of data and analysis and will support the vision of the department in automating reporting routines and processes.
Supporting the Business Intelligence (BI) Analysts to automate how they report key Trust activity. To mentor the BI Analysts in writing SQL scripts as a part of their reporting function.
The post holder will support the Trusts vision to create a self-service reporting environment in the divisions and will have the ability to analyse and interpret highly complex data and resolve highly complex problems.
To present a narrative on the data to assist operational and clinical colleagues to make operational and strategic decisions.
Recommend and implement strategic improvements to streamline and enhance existing data processing and information reporting systems, promoting greater efficiency and effectiveness within the Informatics team.
Responsible for reporting development in the East Sussex sector and Integrated Care Systems.

Qualifications
Essential
- Evidence of continued professional development to Masters level or equivalent level of knowledge and experience.
- Recognised Leadership and / or Management qualification or evidence of leadership development and proven ability to perform at senior level
Desirable
- Project Management (e.g. Prince2).
- ILM5 Leadership and Management.
- Formal training in SQL, Power BI.
Experience
Essential
- Experience in the field of data analytics including SQL, Power BI, SSRS, Excel.
- Experience of developing information reports / dashboards using Power BI and other analytics tools, Proven track record for communicating highly technical data analysis to non technical people, both orally and in writing.
- Previous experience of strategy development (long and short term) and implementation
- Policy review, development and implementation, Experience of Information Management and reporting functions.
- Substantial experience of line management.
- Experience of change management.
Skills
Essential
- Substantial experience at senior level managing staff in a similar function in NHS acute setting or similar environment
Desirable
- Specialist knowledge of developing large scale, complex demand and capacity models using NHS information systems
