Senior Nursery Nurse – Health Visiting: Sponsorship Available

Job Summary

We are recruiting experienced nursery nurses who have post qualification experience of working in community health settings or similar.

The successful candidate will work as part of skilled mixed health visiting service undertaking developmental assessment and contributing to assessment of the needs of the child and family under the delegation of a health visitor or nurse. You will deliver health promotion sessions to individuals or groups of parents/carers.

You will be part of the wider 0-19 service delivering the Healthy Child Programme 0-19.

Main duties of the job

Carry out roles delegated by a health visitor or nurse

Carry put developmental assessments

Contribute to assessments of family needs e.g. as part of Early Help process

Deliver health promotion and education to individual or groups of parents/carers

Work as part of multi agency and disciplinary teams to keep children safe and support those in need

Person Specification

Qualifications

Essential

  • NCFE CACHE Level 3 Diploma in Child Care and Education/ BTEC National Diploma in Children’s Care, Learning and Development/NVQ Level 3 in Children’s Care, Learning and Development
  • Foundation Degree or evidence post qualification education and/or development

Experience

Essential

  • Experience of working with a Healthy Child Programme (e.g. School Nursing/health visiting) or community settings
  • Evidence of collaborative working within a multi-professional arena
  • Working with Safeguarding and Child Protection
  • Delivery group work with children and parents
  • Delivery of health promotion sessions
  • Experience of team working.

  • Up-to-date knowledge of current Government and Local initiatives and how these translate into practice.
  • Demonstrable experience working with children and young people
  • Can demonstrate high level of interpersonal skills.
  • Able to demonstrate clinically effective practice.
  • Understands and can demonstrate accountability
  • Computer literate – ability to use software programmes designed to maximise the contribution to the post e.g. Microsoft, Word, Excel.
  • Demonstrates sound literacy/numerical skills.
