Job summary

We are seeking a proactive and experienced physiotherapist with relevant postgraduate experience to join our paediatric physiotherapy teams. This rotational Band 6 post offers an excellent opportunity to develop skills within a specialised, integrated therapy service, delivering both in-patient and out-patient care. This is a 9 month fixed term contract covering secondment leave.

Main duties of the job

The post-holder will work with children and young people presenting with a wide range of conditions, including medical, musculoskeletal, neurodevelopmental, orthopaedic, and other complex needs. The role involves assessment and intervention for children and young people aged 0-19 years living across Poole, Bournemouth, and East Dorset.

Services are delivered in a variety of settings, including paediatric wards, nurseries, schools, and out-patient clinics across all University Hospitals Dorset Trust sites.

You will work closely with the wider multidisciplinary paediatric team, as well as colleagues in health, education, and social care. We are committed to delivering high-quality, child-centred services in partnership with children and their families.

Applicants must have access to a car for community-based visits and for travel across sites.

Qualifications

Essential

  • Degree/Diploma in Physiotherapy
  • HCPC Registered

Desirable

  • Post graduate training in paediatrics

Experience

Essential

  • post grad – experience in MSK, respiratory, orthopaedics & neurology
  • Supervision of student
  • NHS experience

Desirable

  • Working in a school environment
  • Initiating a service development
