Salary: £44,070.00 -£50,063.00 + AMPH uplifts

plus £2000 annual retention payment, a £2000 Golden Hello and lease car

Main duties of the job

You must hold a Dip SW, CQSW or degree in Social Work and be a qualified AMHP. Registration with Social Work England is a mandatory requirement.

A rare opportunity has arisen due to the promotion of the previous post holder for a senior social worker and care coordinator in our dynamic Early Intervention in Psychosis Service (EIP), where members enjoy manageable caseloads and a fully integrated multi-disciplinary approach.

Based at our offices in Orpington with free parking and good transport links, our EIP team is a supportive whole borough team working with service users subsequent to their first episode of psychosis, embracing concepts of strengths-based practice and a systemic approach with evidence based practice in order to enable recovery. As the Senior Social Worker, your enthusiasm, unique perspectives, knowledge of the Care Act and professional skills will be highly respected within the service. Training and development is an integral offer within the service.

As a qualified AMHP you will also be a member of the centralised AMHP service for 5 days every 5 – 6 weeks, based at Green Parks House nearby which ensures your practice is always supported by the highly experienced AMHP manager who will provide your professional supervision.

Essential

  • To maintain AMHP status, by undertaking appropriate training and continuing professional development
  • To maintain Social Work England registration and adhere to the code of practice
  • Commitment to improving practice standards and personal competencies through continuous professional development
  • Must be eligible to work in the UK
  • Ability to work across the Borough and beyond if required
  • Able to work flexible hours if required to do so
  • Current Disclosure and Barring Service (DBS) clearance
  • A satisfactory enhanced DBS

Experience

Essential

  • 1.Experience of working in an multi-disciplinary setting and social care services for people with mental health problems.
  • 2.Effective supervision of students and/or staff.
  • 3.Have experience of undertaking a wide range of varied and complex MH Act assessment scenarios.
  • 4.Experience of supervision of Approved Mental Health Professional and/or Approved Mental Health professional trainees would be an advantage.
  • 5.Experience of working with multi-agency organisations

Knowledge

Essential

  • 1.Demonstrate a thorough working knowledge of relevant legislation, The Care Act 2014, the Mental Health Act 1983 (Amended 2007) and the Mental Capacity Act 2005. In addition to the aforementioned, a working knowledge of other related legislation and policy that interface the client group.
  • 2.Demonstrate knowledge and understanding of social policy issues affecting the implementation of Community Care, particularly for people with mental health problems.
  • 3.Demonstrate appropriate understanding, knowledge and skills in valuing diversity.

Qualifications

Essential

  • B.A. SW/DipSW/CQSW
  • Current Approved Mental Health Professional
  • Practice Educator
  • Degree or equivalent qualification in Social Care
  • Registered with Social Work England
  • Those holding a social work qualification from 2012 onwards must provide evidence of successfully completing an assessed and supported year in employment OR if newly qualified undertake to an assessed and supported year in employment as part of the councils probationary process.
