Senior Theatre Practitioner (ODP or Anaesthetic Nurse)
Band 6: £39,959 – £48,117 pro rata, per annum
Full-Time (37.5 hours per week)

We are recruiting for anOperating Department Practitioner or Anaesthetic Nurse to our multidisciplinary team who wishes to join our team. You should share our passion and drive to ensure that our patients receive quality and compassionate care.
Our service consists of 4 Main theatre, 2 Day surgery theatres, 1 ophthalmology theatre and 1 Maternity theatre. We can provide experience in a number of surgical specialities including:
General Surgery, Breast Surgery, Colorectal Surgery, Gynaecology, Trauma and Orthopaedics, Urology, Emergency Surgery, ENT, Ophthalmology.
We are looking to appoint to permanent positions.
Main duties of the job
Surgical First Assistant – Maternity & Emergency Theatres Make a life-saving impact where it matters most. Join our team as a Surgical First Assistant (SFA) and play a vital role in supporting emergency caesarean sections and maternity care. This is a fast-paced role for a practitioner who thrives in a dynamic environment and is passionate about patient safety. The Role While primarily focused on providing SFA cover for emergency obstetrics out-of-hours, you will also support general surgical emergencies. Based within our Main Theatres team, you will enjoy a varied caseload and join our anaesthetic/on-call rota. What You’ll Need
- Registration: Qualified Theatre Practitioner (Nurse or ODP).
- Certification: You must either currently hold the Surgical First Assistant (SFA) qualification and be competent in the role, or be willing and able to undertake and successfully complete an accredited SFA training module if appointed
- Experience: At least 6 months’ recent UK hospital experience.
- Bonus: Prior experience in Obstetrics/Gynae procedures is highly desirable.

- Able to demonstrate knowledge and skills in a senior role in theatres
