Job Summary

An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Band 3 Therapy Assistant to join our Orthopaedic Inpatient & Outreach Team at Royal Bolton Hospital.

As a Trust we provide integrated Orthopaedic Services to the population of Bolton and surrounding areas with a Bolton GP. We deliver our care over three orthopedic wards, consisting of elective and trauma.

Main duties of the job

The post holder will assist the qualified therapists in the team by delivering a range of clinical and non-clinical duties to provide routine therapy and ensure the delivery of a high quality service. They will prepare therapeutic materials as required and undertake administrative tasks related to the work load. They must have the appropriate skills to communicate with patients, carers and the wider MDT.

This job involves working on the wards across trauma and elective wards and as part of the weekend rota service

Person Specification

Qualifications

Essential

  • Education to GCSE level or equivalent including Maths and English.
  • NVQ level 3
  • equivalent level of knowledge through competencies

Desirable

  • ECDL

Experience

Essential

  • Previous experience working with orthopaedic patients
  • Previous experience working within the AHP service
  • Ability to work well alone and as part of a team
  • Ability to persuade, motivate, explain and empathise with people including those who have communication differences or barriers to understanding

Knowledge

Essential

  • Ability to develop knowledge of clinical activities that are relevant to the orthopaedic service

  • Car owner/driver
  • Ability to work flexible hours and out of hours including weekends based on the needs of the service
  • To be able to evidence fully vaccinated against Covid 19 – unless medically exempt
