Department of Radiology

With over thirty sonographers working in the radiology department; there is the opportunity for a varied clinical rotation, including one-stop urology and gynaecology clinics, the main ultrasound departments lie across both Guy’s and St Thomas Hospitals, Women’s Services and the Evelina London Children’s Hospital. Within these areas, we undertake a wide range of clinical work: obstetrics and gynaecology, paediatric scanning, small parts, MSK, thyroid scanning, ED, DVT and abdominal/general ultrasound.

  • Accuracy and attention to detail

  • Participation in MDTs/CPPD
  • Leadership skills
  • Knowledge of using Astraia / EPIC / SECTRA

Skills

Essential

  • Experience in performing and reporting general/obstetric/gynae ultrasound scans
  • NHS or equivalent scanning experience
  • Independent reporting
  •  Ability to organise own scan list

Desirable

  • Evidence of wider range of examinations performed
  • Teaching / mentoring
  • Evidence of improvement / transformation initiative

Knowledge/Qualifications

Essential

  • DMU/Pg Cert/Clinical ultrasound
  • CASE accredited course

Desirable

  • Pg Dip/MSc Clinical/medical ultrasound
