Specialty Doctor, General Adult Community Psychiatry, (10 PAs)

We are excited to advertise this fixed term Specialty Doctor post in General Adult Community Psychiatry to work as part of the South Ribble Community Mental Health Team, based in Bamber Bridge. The post is full time (10 PA) and the contract would be for 12 months.

Main duties of the job

The main clinical duties are arranged around conducting assessments and reviews for new patients, in addition to follow up reviews. The post holder is expected to show a high degree of flexibility and co-operation with the teams. The specialty doctor will be part of the multi-disciplinary team meetings to review the patient progress and to assist with task managements for his/her patients. This is a full time post of 10 PAs per week, of which 8 PAs would be dedicated to Direct Clinical Care, and the other 2 PAs available for Supporting Professional Activities.

Essential

  • MBBS or equivalent
  • Full GMC registration and licence to practise
  • Section 12 approval

Experience

Essential

  • At least 3 years of experience in psychiatry
  • Knowledge, skills and experience appropriate to this role
