Duties:
– Provide support and assistance to individuals with a range of challenges (such as behavioural difficulties, physical or intellectual disabilities).
– Assist with daily living activities, such as: meal preparation, medication administration, supporting with general cleanliness (washing clothes, tidying bedroom and encouraging good personal hygiene).
– Help children and young people participate in recreational and social activities, along with educational needs. Supporting contact with family where applicable.
– Accompany children and young people to appointments and outings, whether it be medical, wellbeing or social appointments.
– Monitor and report any changes in behavior or health condition and feed this back to the appropriate professional in meetings such as PEP’s and LAC’s.
– Maintain a clean, safe and healthy environment for children and young people; that is inclusive and diverse (encouraging positive outcomes).
Qualifications (Preferred but not necessary)
– High school diploma or equivalent
– Previous experience working with individuals with EBD or LD.
– Strong communication and interpersonal skills
– Compassionate and patient demeanor
– Ability to work independently and as part of a team
– Reliable transportation and or drivers license to arrive to the homes and also drive the company vehicles to transport the young people and children.
