Overview
We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Systems Architect to join our design team within the Digital Technology & Data department in Manchester. In this role, you’ll collaborate with team members to design and implement IT systems while taking the lead on architectural aspects of the program. You’ll define the end-to-end solution design and work closely with multiple third-party solution and implementation partners. As a Systems Architect, you will play a crucial role in designing and implementing robust software systems, ensuring they are scalable, maintainable, and aligned with industry best practices.
Duties
· Define solution options, make key design recommendations, and document architectural designs.
· Collaborate with partners to discuss and refine technology solutions.
· Ensure the solution design meets business needs while adhering to architectural governance and standards.
· Provide technical and architectural leadership, sharing expertise with colleagues.
· Experience in large-scale IT and Change programs.
· Knowledge and understanding of case management processes.
· Strong problem-solving skills, with the ability to make data-driven decisions.
· Excellent relationship-building skills, capable of influencing and constructively challenging stakeholders at all levels.
· Ability to communicate complex technical concepts to a non-technical audience.
· Define process flows and user interface specifications effectively.
· Deep understanding of Pega Out-of-the-Box (OOTB) capabilities and relevant strategic framework applications.
· Demonstrate how Pega OOTB features can meet business objectives.
· Deliver high-quality outputs across all project phases, from inception to user acceptance testing.
· Work closely with stakeholders, including Product Owners, SMEs, and Technical Architects, during elaboration sessions.
· Lead development team grooming sessions to ensure clear understanding of specifications.
· Ensure delivered work aligns with business objectives and functional requirements approved by the client.
· Lead product playback sessions to validate development against acceptance criteria.
· Act as the lead testing resource during unit and user acceptance testing.
· Awareness of industry-standard methodologies such as SDLC, Agile, and Scrum, with the ability to communicate policies and procedures effectively.
· Support the Engagement Leader (EL) in scoping, sizing, and reporting activities.
· Manage individual workload efficiently and maintain proactive communication with team members.
· The role requires consulting expertise, the ability to work across multiple projects, and a strong Pega specialization while collaborating with partner and customer teams in both individual and team settings.
Essential skills
· Bachelor’s or Master’s degree with a minimum of 5 years of industry experience.
· Professional certifications or qualifications related to IT architecture
· Pega Rules Process Commander (PRPC) certification: Pega Certified Business Architect (PCBA).
· Experience across the project lifecycle, including initiation, analysis, elaboration, and development.
· Expertise in one or more industry domains:
- Financial Services – Implementation experience with at least one Financial Services industry framework.
- Healthcare – Expertise in implementing Healthcare industry frameworks.
- Insurance – Extensive experience with at least one Insurance industry framework.
- Decisioning – Implementation experience with Decisioning Products (DSM and CDM).
- Corporate Markets, Manufacturing, Life Sciences, Telecom, Public Sector, Travel – Proven implementation expertise.
· Strong communication skills with the ability to engage both technical and business stakeholders, including senior executives.
· People management experience.
· Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
· Familiarity with Agile and Scrum methodologies.
· Proficiency in documentation and specification, including process flows, UI mockups, use case documentation, and user guides.
· Willingness to take on complex challenges and adapt to a dynamic business environment.
· Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
· Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to learn quickly in a fast-paced setting.
