Job Summary

We are looking for a proactive and organised Team Leader to support the delivery of Radiology services across Trust sites. This role is key to ensuring effective administrative support across multiple modalities, working closely with clinical and operational teams to maintain efficient patient pathways and a high-quality, patient-focused service.

 

Main duties of the job

The postholder will provide day-to-day leadership and line management to Radiology administrative staff, ensuring effective supervision, performance management, and staff development. They will oversee referral and booking processes, support service delivery against key targets, manage patient queries and complaints, and contribute to service improvement and operational efficiency.

Qualifications and Training

Essential

  • Good standard of general education (GCSE English and Maths or equivalent)
  • Evidence of supervisory / leadership training or equivalent experience
  • Commitment to ongoing professional development

Desirable

  • Level 3 Team Leader / Management qualification or equivalent
  • NHS leadership development training

Experience

Essential

  • Experience of supervising or line managing staff
  • Experience working in an administrative or patient-facing service environment
  • Experience managing workload priorities in a busy operational setting
  • Experience dealing with staff attendance, performance, or wellbeing matters
  • Experience handling patient queries or complaints professionally

Desirable

  • Experience working within Radiology / Imaging services
  • Experience within an NHS acute hospital setting
  • Experience of referral and appointment booking pathways
  • Experience supporting RTT / cancer / diagnostic access targets

Knowledge

Essential

  • Understanding of effective people management principles
  • Understanding of customer care and patient experience standards
  • Understanding of workforce wellbeing and engagement principles

Desirable

  • Knowledge of Radiology systems and pathways
  • Knowledge of Soliton, PACS, EPR or similar healthcare systems
  • Understanding of NHS performance targets relevant to diagnostics
