Main duties of the job

We are looking for a friendly, dynamic and forward-thinking radiographer to join our radiotherapy team. You will have excellent communication and team working skills and be ready to help run a busy unit in a friendly, modern radiotherapy department.

The role involves the treatment of the radiotherapy patients on one of our linear accelerators at our main site at the General. There is also the expectation to rotate through our satellite centre in Basingstoke but travel time and costs will be reimbursed. Other areas of rotational work include pre-treatment, DXR and in our new Brachytherapy suite.A wealth of additional opportunities are available in the following areas; TBI and SABR providing safe, state-of-the-art patient centred care for our patients. We are also a regional sarcoma centre, a tertiary referral centre for Neuro-oncology (delivering SRS/T) and our main site is also the only centre in the country delivering Intra operative Radiotherapy (IOERT) for Pancreatic and GI tumours. We are the first centre in the UK to have Exactrac Dynamic in clinical use on 3 of our 7 Linacs providing sub-millimetre correction through stereoscopic imaging with 6 degrees of freedom correction. Our other linacs and our 3 CTs (1 with 4DCT acquisition) have Align RT allowing thermal and surface guided set up and tracking.

  • Degree in Therapeutic Radiography or Diploma of College of Radiographers State Registration with the HCPC, further study/training courses
