An opportunity has arisen for a Band 5 Radiographerto join our team at the North Wales Cancer Treatment Centre.

The radiotherapy department has 4 Varian Linear Accelerators (3 Truebeam, 1 Varian iX), Gulmay Orthovoltage Unit, Canon CT Planning Scanner, Prosoma, and an Eclipse TPS, with the addition of Surface Guided radiotherapy systems on all Truebeams.

As a Band 5 Radiographer, you will work within all areas of the department and be fully supported via our mentorship and training programme.

The department currently works an extended day and the post holder would be expected to work flexibly within the hours of 08:00 to 18:30 to cover the operational needs of the department and to participate in the on call rota. Core hours are between 08:30-16:30.

Main duties of the job

Contribute to a patient focussed service of the highest quality under the supervision of senior radiographers and the Superintendent Radiographers,

Contribute to the delivery of an efficient and effective radiotherapy service, identifying and communicating the need for possible improvements.

Undertake and assist with a wide range of radiotherapy treatments across the Radiotherapy Department in the North Wales Cancer Treatment Centre, as appropriate to the level and scope of training – This scope of treatment may include for example undertaking emergency treatments out of hours.

Perform high quality Radiotherapy Treatments ensuring efficient delivery of workflow and compliance with the statutory regulations relating to ionising radiation, BCUHB, Radiotherapy, and Medical Physics Department policies and procedures.

The ability to speak Welsh is desirable for this post; Welsh and/or English speakers are equally welcome to apply.

Experience

  • Experience of working within a busy Radiotherapy Department using a range of modern radiotherapy techniques

  • Working with Varian equipment and Aria software

  • B.Sc. in Radiotherapy Radiography or equivalent
