Job Summary

We are inviting applications for the position of tACP working across our Paediatric Emergency Department.On successful completion of an MSc you will go onto a ACP band 8A contract.

The successful candidate will be a highly experienced knowledgeable member of the team who is expected to work autonomously making high level decisions to treat health needs. You will be supported by a dedicated member of the clinical team to develop your skills as needed. Main duties of the job

The post holder is an experienced Nurse qualified to Degree Level, Within Peadiatrics service. Individual training needs will be met by the undertaking an MSc in Advanced Clinical Practice and a Clinical portfolio in order to achieve the level of competence required by the post. The trainee will be paid at Band 7 until completion of all competences deemed necessary for autonomous practice where they will then paid at Band 8a.

Qualifications

Essential

  • RN/ RN child branch
  • Post reg Peadiatric Course
  • Eligible for entry onto MSc programme (health related honours degree or a minimum of 90 undergraduate degree level credits – of which at least 15 credits to have been completed in last 2 yrs).

Desirable

  • Advanced assessment skills qualification with evidence of clinical practice.
  • Registered independent non-medical prescriber.
  • Teaching qualification.
  • Higher level qualification in accredited course (e.g. ALS).

Knowledge

Essential

  • Currently working in a senior role in [INSERT SPECIALITY] (band 6 minimum).
  • Senior clinical leadership experience (band 6 minimum).
  • Significant post registration experience in [INSERT SPECIALITY].
  • Experience and evidence in developing practice.
  • Experience of supporting learning in the clinical environment.
  • Acknowledged expert in their field who could be clinically credible.

Desirable

  • Experience of participating in clinical audit.
  • Experience of disseminating work through presentation/publication.
  • Previous experience in a practice development role or formal teaching experience.
