Job Summary

An exciting opportunity has arisen for highly organised and motivated individuals to train as full-time Trainee High Intensity Dynamic Interpersonal Therapy (DIT) Therapist within a well established Talking Therapies Service.

  1. If you are shortlisted for you will be invited to an interview with Wolverhampton Talking Therapies (estimated to be mid-December).
  2. Recruited candidates will then be asked to apply for the 20-Day DIT Training with the Anna Freud Centre.

Person Specification

Education/Qualifications

Essential

  • A diploma level qualification in counselling OR Psychology doctorate (clinical, counselling, health or forensic)
  • Full registration with either BACP, UKCP or HCPC and working towards accreditation
  • A minimum two-year post-graduate (or equivalent) qualification in Psychotherapeutic Counselling, Psychotherapy, Counselling, or Counselling Psychology, comprising no less than 450 hours programme contact AND no less than 100 hours supervised counselling or psychotherapy practice

Knowledge / Experience

Essential

  • Demonstrable experience working with mental health in a professional capacity
  • Ability to manage own caseload and time
  • Demonstrates an understanding for the need to use evidence based psychological therapies and how it relates to this post.

Desirable

  • Experience of having had psychodynamic therapy
  • Experience of working in Primary Care Services
  • Demonstrates an understanding of anxiety and depression and how it may present in Primary Care

Skills / Personal qualities

Essential

  • Ability to evaluate and put in place the effect of training
  • Has received training about risk (either formal or through experience) and carried out risk assessments
  • Ability to use clinical supervision and personal development positively and effectively
  • Ability to work under pressure
