Job Summary

Do you have a passion for High Risk antenatal care and work within the MDT to enhance patient experience in difficult situations?

Wirral University Teaching Hospital (WUTH) are looking for an enthusiastic and motivated Midwife with significant clinical experience in Midwifery to provide leadership and service implementation within maternity services. With remits to support SBL; MNSI; CNST and Ockenden.

This post is a training post which will be paid as a percentage of the Band 7 salary in line with Annex 21, whilst training is undertaken.

The course runs for approx. 12 months, during this time you will gain

skills and knowledge to be competent in that of a High Risk

Midwife/Sonographer.

 

Applicants will need to be able to support women across a variety of locations and must have the ability to travel between sites.

Main duties of the job

This role is aimed at an experienced Band 6 Midwife with a passion for improving services for women and their families. The role involves completing a full sonography course in both early pregnancy and obstetric scanning.

There is a requirement for you to have strong academic history in order to complete the required qualifications needed to fulfil the role of the Midwife/Sonographer.

We would require significant midwifery experience for you to be suitable for this role.

Qualifications, Specific Experience & Training

Essential

  • Registered Midwife currently on the NMC register
  • Relevant Diploma/Degree
  • Evidence of ongoing dynamic continuing professional development within the speciality linked to demonstrable clinical competencies
  • Assessing and mentoring qualification
  • Obstetric scanning qualification

Desirable

  • Master’s degree or evidence of recent study at Level 7

Knowledge and Skills

Essential

  • Recent experience at Band 6
  • Experience in all areas of midwifery
  • Detailed knowledge of maternity IT systems
  • Proven experience of working in an environment with a range of IT infrastructures
  • IT literate

Desirable

  • Awareness of equality and diversity
