Job Summary
We have an exciting opportunity for a newly qualified or experienced dietitian to join our very friendly renal dietetics team based at the Kent Kidney Care Centre, Kent and Canterbury Hospital.
Your role will be to deliver nutritional care aligned to the four pillars of practice to adults living with kidney disease under the care of the Kent Kidney Care Centre.
This post is offered subject to the completion ofa structured competency framework over the period of up to 2 years. Failure to complete the competencies within the timescale may result in you remaining at the same pay point as offered on appointment without advancement. As this will also mean that you are unable to fulfil the full job description your case may need to be considered in line with the Trust Capability Procedure.
You will progress through the Trainee Band 6 increments annually according to the table below:
Up to 2 years training required: 70% of £46,580 = £32,606 pa
Less than 1 years’ training required: 75% of £46,580 = £34,935 pa

Main duties of the job
Deliver patient centred nutritional care to adults living with kidney disease under the care of Kent Kidney Care Centre.
Provide dietetic advice and support to multi-disciplinary colleagues within renal specialty.
Be actively involved in monitoring standards of care and act on feedback from patients, their families and carers.
Utilises evidence based clinical practice contributing to service development and pathways of care.
Works collaboratively within the renal dietetic team and other multi-disciplinary colleagues within the renal service to deliver pre and post registration education and training.
Teach and advise patients and their families/carers how to manage their condition and support the MDT in patient focused education.
Maintain personal and professional development aligned to Trust policies, HCPC guidelines and revalidation requirements.
Work collaboratively to contribute to the clinical audit programme within EKHUFT Renal Services.
Support research projects within renal specialty and contribute to quality improvement projects.
Contribute to the development and updating of practice protocols/guidelines and procedures in renal care.
Be conversant with best practice including national and local reports and policies relating to renal dietetic care.
Contribute to data collection to inform comprehensive quality reports.
