Join our dedicated team in NHSBT organ donation and transplantation. You’ll be part of a programme team at the forefront of organ transplantation projects, ultimately saving and improving lives.
The establishment of a national Assessment and Recovery Centre (ARC) service will extend equitable access to life-saving products and treatments to everyone that needs them and bridge the gap between shortage of organs available and demand.
You will contribute to life-saving work, where every day promises diversity and excitement managing critical programmes aimed at enhancing organ donation and transplantation services.
We are looking for a Transplant Development Manager to join us to support planning, leading and managing Assessment and Recovery Centre projects and activities that contribute to the achievement of NHSBT Strategy and Organ Donation and Transplant 2030: Meeting the Need strategy.

Qualifications
Essential
- Educated to Masters Level as demonstrated either by academic qualification or supported by extensive senior management and leadership experience at a senior level.
- Nursing and Midwifery Registration or Health & Care Professions Council Registration.
- Demonstrate commitment to own Continued Professional Development (CPD).
- Requirement for Nursing and Midwifery Registration or Health & Care Professions Council Registration professional registration which must be maintained in the role.
Experience
Essential
- Demonstrable evidence of successful improvement in service delivery and development and implementation of change.
- Experience in managing and motivating people to deliver strategy and business objectives.
- Experience of working as a senior Manager in the NHS
- Evidence of experience of leading effective change and innovation within teams /across an organisation.
- High level of knowledge of current issues, research and developments within the entire donation and transplantation pathway, supporting and maintaining the processes which underpin it.
- Highly developed specialist knowledge of organ donation the entire donation and transplantation pathway.
- Experience of staff management to include recruitment, training, performance management.
- Demonstrable experience of analytical skills to lead and support the implementation of new and changing initiatives.
- Awareness of current professional issues and developments within organ donation and transplantation, and the NHS.
- Demonstrate commitment to own Continued Professional Development (CPD) and application in practice.
- Willingness to work irregular hours and to travel extensively, including overnight stays when required (with appropriate prior notice).
- Willingness and ability to undertake travel and spend time away from base to meet the requirements of the post (with appropriate prior notice).
