Job Summary
The Transportation Clerk plays a vital role in ensuring the smooth operation of logistics and transportation activities within the organisation. This position involves coordinating shipments, managing documentation, and liaising with various stakeholders to facilitate efficient supply chain processes. The ideal candidate will possess strong organisational skills and a keen understanding of transportation management systems.
Responsibilities
- Coordinate and track shipments to ensure timely delivery.
- Maintain accurate records of all transportation activities and documentation.
- Liaise with third-party logistics (3PL) providers to negotiate rates and services.
- Ensure compliance with FDA regulations and other relevant industry standards.
- Assist in data entry tasks related to transportation and logistics operations.
- Support sales management efforts by generating leads and maintaining customer relationships.
- Utilise transportation management systems to optimise routing and scheduling.
- Collaborate with supply chain teams to enhance overall efficiency.
Skills
- Proficiency in using transportation management systems and relevant software.
- Strong negotiation skills to effectively manage relationships with vendors and clients.
- Familiarity with FDA regulations as they pertain to transportation.
- Experience in sales, including lead generation and sales management, is advantageous.
- Excellent data entry skills with a focus on accuracy and attention to detail.
- Strong organisational abilities to manage multiple tasks effectively.
- Ability to work collaboratively within a team environment while also being self-motivated.
